The Pleasant Valley Freshman Girl's are now 14 - 1, (3-0 in league play), after defeating Chico High in overtime Thursday afternoon at the CHS gymnasium.

The Viking gals got off to a slow start, offensively, only scoring 9 points in the first half (to Chico's 17). The Vikes looked like a different team in the second half, demonstrating renewed defensive intensity and strategic offense.

Jessica Gallaway came to life in the second half, scoring 14 points, followed by 4 points in overtime. Gallaway looked unstoppable in the key, and the Viking players recognized this and continued feeding her the ball on the inside. Gallaway also pulled down 6 rebounds and had 4 steals. She finished the game with 24 points for the Vikes.

Laney Nelson stayed true to form with her mentally-tough, defensive leadership on the court. She had 5 steals, 3 rebounds, and 6 points for the Vikings.

Jessica Linton's precision passing in the second half helped the Vikes gain momentum. Linton finished with 4 assists and a steal, and shook up the Panther's defense with her stong drives to the basket.

Brooke Whitburn pulled down 9 rebounds, and had 8 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals for the Vikes.

P.V. plays Red Bluff at home on Tuesday (1/19).
